Taverna Romana - no website but this place is just around the corner from the Hotel Forum in the Ancient Part of Rome just off the Imperial Roman Forum - address Via della Madonna dei Monti - excellent food, cheap and very very good value for money, try a traditional Roman dish called "Abbacchio a Scottadito " lamb ribs which you eat with your hands watch out as they are piping hot hence the name "Scottaditto" or burn your finger!!!
The Sitar - located on Via Cavour near the Colosseum this is definitely and without doubt the best and most authentic Indian Restaurant in Rome - the Sitar is in Via Cavour, 256. . Telephone 06 4884004 Ask for Sundip who is the owner and speaks perfect English, if he gets on well with you he might even invite you for a nightcap at the Finnegans Irish pub just down the stairs!.
