Hotels in Venice

Venice island is a very small area of land therefore the hotels tend to be petit and the rooms not very large... Also as Venice is very popular it is highly adviseable that you book well in advance as during the peak months i.e. September, October and April to June (carnival period in February is also very busy) it is very hard to find a room at any price!

Venice can be divided up into the following areas - Train Station area i.e. Cannaregio the area surrounding the railway station Santa Lucia and the old Jewish quarter of Venice. This area is hugely popular with younger travellers and there are loads of internet cafes, bars and cheap eateries to be found. Santa Croce the area immediately in front of the train station on the other side of the Grand Canal, winding alleys, quiet canals and gondoliers abound in this area perhaps one of most romantic and best value for money areas in town! Dorsoduro the part between the Santa Croce and San Marco. Castello the area to the east of San Marco where you can enjoy a lovely walk along the promenade esplanade whilst admiring views over the lagoon. San Marco the area where the most expensive Venetian hotels are to be found.
